About This Role

The Senior IT Engineer II, OSS Platform plays a crucial role in managing and maintaining the local Open Source technology framework to support manufacturing processes from an IT/OT perspective within a global organization.

This position serves as the primary contact for locally utilized systems, ensuring optimal service levels to meet evolving business requirements.

The role will initially contribute to the local IT project team, responsible for implementing essential infrastructure and applications for our new site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor, manage, and troubleshoot end-user computing systems across FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies.
  • Assist in aligning roadmaps across IT and OT.
  • Design and implement tools and services that bridge IT and OT.
  • Develop a modern, flexible service delivery model.
  • Champion new technologies, including open source and cloud-native initiatives.
  • Design and implement a tailored containerization platform.
  • Engage in industry forums to stay updated on trends and promote our methodologies.
  • Act as a mentor and trusted advisor to the infrastructure team.
  • Provide level 3 support for complex technical issues within the OSS domain.
  • Deliver critical technical guidance and expertise.
  • Create and deploy application packages for endpoint devices.
  • Participate in project execution and quality assurance as needed.
  • Ensure effective service delivery from the IT ServiceDesk.
Who You Are

You possess a strong background in managing Open Source technology stacks to support manufacturing operations within a global framework.

Basic Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED with 14 years of experience in open source technologies OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field with 10 years of experience in open source technologies OR
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field with 8 years of experience in open source technologies.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Experience with Enterprise Linux/*NIX hosting capabilities.
  • Familiarity with OpenStack tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar.
  • Foundational understanding of security in Open Source technologies.
  • Experience in manufacturing IT/OT environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • A collaborative mindset with a commitment to teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in Life Sciences or GMP manufacturing environments.
Working Conditions

This role may require working in environments necessitating respiratory protection and hearing conservation measures. Candidates should be prepared for physical demands such as standing for extended periods and the ability to lift objects up to 33 lbs.
