Position Overview:

The Technical Wiring Technician III plays a crucial role in ensuring the precise wiring of test fixture products, strictly adhering to departmental protocols, process plans, and all relevant company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and analyze manufacturing specifications, procedures, and statements of work, providing insightful feedback to customers, engineers, and account managers.
  • Understand schematics, wire lists, and provided specifications to execute necessary technical wiring.
  • Perform manual assembly tasks including crimping, soldering, and wire stripping.
  • Conduct testing operations using Digital Multimeters, Cirrus Testers, and power supplies to confirm correct wiring of fixtures.
  • Complete all required electronic and physical documentation prior to the delivery of test fixtures.
  • Document any deviations and modifications from the original design.
  • Engage in continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate time reporting and entries on manufacturing and inspection records.
  • Work efficiently within security-sensitive projects.
  • Assemble, wire, and troubleshoot modular products and larger test platforms.
  • Ensure timely completion of projects with minimal errors.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in electronics or a related field is mandatory.
  • A minimum of five years of experience as a wiring technician for electronic or electromechanical products is required.
  • IPC J-STD-001 and IPC A-620 certifications are preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional manual soldering and manipulation skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, wire lists, schematics, and datasheets.
  • Capability to follow both written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Proficiency in interpreting CAD and Solidworks drawings.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and multi-meters, along with soldering irons and rework stations.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and security of intellectual property.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Dedication to delivering high-quality projects with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to work additional hours during peak demand periods.

Physical Requirements:

  • Position involves regular exposure to typical manufacturing environment conditions.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, along with bending, reaching, stooping, and twisting as necessary.
  • Requires fine motor skills for assembly and operation of tools and testing equipment.
  • Repetitive hand movements are necessary for using manual and electric tools.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation includes an hourly base rate along with performance-based quarterly profit sharing. Benefits encompass medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and retirement programs. Paid leave includes vacation and holiday pay.
