Job Summary

As a Divisional Purchasing Manager with Chartwells K12, you will play a critical role in executing and maintaining compliant purchasing processes, reporting, and procedures through strong leadership and effective management. Your contributions will directly impact the financial strength of the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with key team and management associates on product requests, par levels, slow and dead inventory, and auto shipments.
  • Monitor and convey known supplier issues with Foodbuy and the region to effectively manage resolution.
  • Conduct annual trainings on USDA commodity diversion strategy and present the region with best financial and commodity product opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a state-based commodity champion network.
  • Manage product compliance, communicate opportunities, and implement changes within the specified region.
  • Monitor product shipments to ensure products received are consistent with orders placed.
  • Compile and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly communications and reports as needed.
  • Provide onsite and remote training to operators with direct purchasing responsibilities within an assigned region.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse regional resource team, including Operations, Marketing, Nutrition, and Finance, to achieve business goals.
  • Facilitate the bid process of dairy, produce, chemicals, disposables, and food for the bid states, as per contract.
  • Communicate par levels, opening and closing dates, school closures and delays, force shipments, and order guide updates to distributors in bid states.
  • Source, manage, and upload all nutritional documentation to update Webtrition as needed for bid items.
  • Create bid-specific recipes for food items on the bid.
  • Act as liaison between distribution centers and schools to approve substitutions and manage delivery issues.
  • Work directly with Foodbuy to add users to MyOrders and update MOGs for bid states.
  • Act as commodity champion for bid states to ensure commodity purchases align with the bid and submit manual rebates for commodities.
  • Monitor pricing and usage of products on the bid; communicate any issues to the appropriate distributor.
  • Expand the bid to include more local products and vendors that fit Compass QA standards, as required by schools.
