Special Education Teacher for Diverse Learners

We are seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team at Hmong College Prep Academy.
School OverviewHmong College Prep Academy is a Title I Charter School serving students in grades K-12. Our mission is to provide a well-rounded educational experience that prepares students for college and beyond. As a member of our staff, you will be part of a dynamic and supportive community dedicated to academic excellence and social responsibility.
Job Responsibilities- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data privacy regulations while promoting student progress and well-being.
- Provide direct instruction to special education students, adapting general education lessons to meet individual needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modify assessments to ensure equal access to education.
- Support paraprofessionals in implementing student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and provide feedback on their job performance.
- Organize and distribute special education materials, maintaining accurate records and communicating regularly with parents.
- Advocate for students with disabilities, developing proactive behavioral interventions based on Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).
- Adhere to the MN Teachers Code of Conduct and support school goals and objectives aligned with HCPA's vision and values.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, teachers, and staff, responding promptly to their needs and concerns.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding students and the educational setting.

Requirements- Current MN teaching license in Special Education: Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Deaf or Hard of Hearing, or Oral/Aural Education.
- At least 3 years of teaching experience, with a strong background in special education.
- Knowledge of due process procedures, instructional technologies, and research-based teaching strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we provide comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and professional development opportunities.
