About the Role:

The Assistant Director of Nursing will assist the Director of Nursing in administrative duties and supervise nursing staff to ensure the highest level of patient care. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and direct the workforce, communicate effectively with residents and their families, and react decisively in emergency situations.

Responsibilities:

* Assist the Director of Nursing with administrative duties and supervise nursing staff
* Plan and facilitate meetings and committees to address resident care issues
* Monitor weekly and monthly weights, meals, and breaks to ensure compliance
* Assist in preparing departmental budgets and monitor expenses
* Perform personnel management functions, including establishing qualification requirements, drafting procedure manuals, and installing record and reporting systems
* Monitor noise levels and resident satisfaction with care
* Perform studies to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing services and their objectives and costs
* Monitor and audit charts for accuracy and completeness
* Ensure annual competency evaluations and performance reviews are completed on time
* Proactively address survey and standards of care issues
* Follow up on resident, family, and employee concerns in a timely manner

Requirements:

* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred
* Valid RN license in the state employed, or valid LPN license if not an RN
* Valid CPR certification
* Seven years' experience in nursing, two years of which was supervisory in a long-term care environment
