Overview The role involves the design and execution of extensive I&C systems across various projects, utilizing principles from electrical, mechanical, chemical, and computer engineering.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Field Instrumentation
  • Identifies suitable field instrumentation in alignment with project scope, contractual documents, standardized products, and budgetary constraints.
  • Establishes installation prerequisites and prepares necessary documentation for review and approval.
  • Adds responses to any comments received on submissions.
  1. Panel Design
  • Creates designs for control and network panels based on project specifications, contractual documents, standardized products, and budget.
  • Generates hardwired IO lists and bills of materials.
  • Coordinates drafting activities and prepares documentation for review and approval.
  • Conducts preliminary panel checkouts.
  1. Loop Drawings
  • Develops loop drawings in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Oversees drafting efforts and prepares documentation for review and approval.
  1. Camera & Security Subsystems
  • Chooses and designs hardware and software for camera and security systems based on project scope, contractual documents, standardized products, and budget.
  • Prepares documentation for review and approval.
  1. Network Design
  • Designs SCADA/PLC control systems networks adhering to best practices and project requirements.
  • Selects cabling and network hardware, develops network schematics, and integrates third-party systems.
  • Prepares network documentation for review and approval.
  1. Documentation and Testing
  • Assists with Control Narrative Submissions and creates testing procedures.
  • Supervises the generation of "As-installed for Record" documentation and develops Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals.
  • Conducts site assessments, builds relationships with vendors, and supports project teams.
  1. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in field instrumentation, control panel, and networking design is essential.
  • Proficient in technical writing, verbal communication, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD.
  1. Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Effective oral communication and proficient use of office equipment are required.
  • Primarily office-based with occasional site visits.
  • Estimated travel requirement is around 20%.
