JOB DESCRIPTION

Clean Harbors is seeking a Hydroblast Technician to be part of our dedicated team. This position involves working at various client locations, assisting with blasting operations, and managing high-pressure water blasting equipment. Strong communication skills are essential as the Hydroblast Technician will represent Clean Harbors and foster positive relationships with clients.

TRAVEL: TBD

WORK SCHEDULE: Rotating shifts, including days and nights, with overtime as necessary.

EXPERIENCE WITH: Hydroblasting, Vacuum Trucks, Warehouse/Manufacturing, General Labor, Production, and Industrial Field experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize Health and Safety by adhering to policies and procedures, ensuring safe practices at all times.
  • Operate both manual and automated hydroblasting equipment.
  • Utilize specialized equipment, including Ultra High-Pressure pumps.
  • Engage equipment by activating pumping systems and any specialized Hydroblasting or Chemical cleaning equipment, vacuum trucks, and cutting tools as required.
  • Inspect cleaned surfaces to verify compliance with company and client standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and all associated tools, including industrial vacuuming systems and the disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Perform regular maintenance on company equipment utilized during operations.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Work Environment
  • Utilization of tools, equipment, and large machinery such as industrial cleaning devices and vehicles.
  • Occasional computer use for training purposes.
  • Work conditions include outdoor environments, extreme temperatures, noisy settings, shift work, flexible schedules, and on-call hours.
  • Physical demands include heavy lifting, operation of large machinery, and working in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Regular overnight travel is a requirement for this position.
Qualifications
  • Reliable transportation and a VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE are preferred.
  • Ability to meet physical demands as outlined in Key Responsibilities.
  • This role includes emergency response duties; being on-call is a condition of employment, with potential weekend and holiday work required.
  • Successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and physical examination is mandatory.
Skills and Experience:
  • Relevant vocational training, including safety training and on-the-job experience.
  • Proficiency in English sufficient to understand safety training and respond to emergency instructions.
  • A valid driver's license and compliance with the company's driving policy are required when operating company vehicles or using personal vehicles for business purposes.
  • OSHA certification may be necessary for this position.
  • Knowledge of emergency equipment operation, such as fire extinguishers, is required.
  • Possession of a Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) may be necessary.
