Overview:
The Safety and Security Specialist (Full Time) is tasked with ensuring the protection and safety of ASM Global Oakland visitors, staff, and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular inspections of the premises.
Respond promptly to all security and safety-related incidents.
Demonstrate exemplary behavior and appearance while on duty.
Adhere to all departmental performance, conduct, and attendance standards.
Perform a variety of tasks, often transitioning from one responsibility to another without compromising efficiency or composure.
Follow all legal and ethical directives issued by the Facility Security Supervisors, Facility Security Manager, Security Manager, or the Senior Director of Security.
Uphold the Security Department's core principles.
Investigate and prepare accurate incident documentation.
Complete all assigned duties within the timelines established by the Facility Security Supervisors, Facility Security Manager, Security Manager, or the Senior Director of Security.
Engage with guests, vendors, and staff in a polite and professional manner, complying with all legal and ethical directives from the Security Management team.
Additional tasks as assigned.Essential Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of 0-1 years of relevant experience.
Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
Must possess a valid California Driver's License.
Candidates must hold a current Guard Card or Proprietary Security Officer (PSO) Card or be willing and able to obtain one prior to employment.
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with all departments and personnel.Ability to perform effectively in crisis situations and work under pressure without losing composure.
Ability to demonstrate maturity through sound judgment.
Ability to memorize, recall, and quickly retrieve pertinent information.
Ability to interact effectively and calmly with distressed or emotional patrons and employees during highly charged situations.
Ability to participate in all departmental and company-wide meetings.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patrons, employees, and company matters.
Must be flexible with work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Perform a variety of tasks, often transitioning from one responsibility to another without compromising efficiency or composure.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully execute the essential functions of this role.
Tasks are performed with moderate supervision.
Walking and standing will occur 90% of the time.
Communication, auditory, walking, running, and visual activities will occur continuously.
Work will be conducted both indoors and outdoors, with potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.
