Position Overview:
As a Financial Technician II at Rippling, you will operate autonomously within our finance team while also providing essential support during peak periods and employee absences. Our finance team consists of a controller, a manager, two technicians, a specialist, and an administrative staff member, all working under the guidance of our CFO to manage the financial operations for Rippling and its subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily financial operations to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Oversee assigned general ledgers, journal entries, and the closing of monthly and yearly financial cycles.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies in all accounting practices.
- Act as a backup for payroll tasks, including reviewing payroll before processing.
- Support accounts payable processes as necessary, including monthly reviews and reconciliations.
- Lead project management initiatives within the finance department, including audit responses and data reviews.
- Coordinate the annual submission of 1099 forms.
- Update financial ledgers and reporting as required.
- Research complex financial queries and present findings to management.
- Create and maintain spreadsheets for auditing and reconciling financial records.
- Identify process weaknesses and recommend improvements.
- Attend work consistently and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
- A minimum of three years of progressive accounting experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Office 365, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with accounting software is essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of financial reports, GAAP, and managerial accounting principles.
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism in all aspects of work.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in data entry and organization.
- Self-motivated to meet deadlines and deliverables.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Ability to work full-time on-site during operational hours.
- Professional demeanor, even in high-pressure situations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive motions, including typing.
