This role involves preparing for and participating in interventional procedures in collaboration with interventional radiologists and nursing staff. The successful candidate will hold advanced certification in Vascular Interventional Radiography and provide care in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
- Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate care
- Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
- Operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol
- Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
- Complete timely quality control procedures and perform notification/remediation as warranted
- Assist in departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, equipment, and maintenance
The incumbent will work in a patient care area, interact with patients, and may be exposed to communicable diseases. The role requires adapting behavior to specific patient populations and remaining knowledgeable on current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements.
Requirements- Completion of an approved radiologic technology program
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Current unrestricted license in the state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Preferred: Advanced certification in Vascular Interventional Radiology
