Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Activities Assistant to join our team at Stone Rehab and Senior Living in Newton, MA.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering recreational and social programming to our residents, in accordance with their individual assessment and care plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and implement activity programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
  • Conduct interviews with residents and family members to gather information about their activity preferences.
  • Collaborate with residents and family members to plan activity programs that meet their needs and interests.
  • Document activity progress notes that are informative and descriptive of the services provided.
  • Transport residents in our facility's van to and from recreational outings and shopping trips.
  • Assist in the development of and participate in regularly scheduled orientation and in-service training programs.
  • Schedule and coordinate FaceTime and Zoom virtual visits with residents and their families.
  • Monitor and escort groups during Music Concerts and activities on their designated floor.
Requirements
  • Prior experience working with the elderly is preferred, but we are willing to train an interested and compassionate individual.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Therapeutic Recreation Certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in long-term care or assisted living working directly with a geriatric population.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate professionally and positively to residents, family members, volunteers, and facility staff.
  • Ability to work independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, and other programs utilized to research, track, and create materials for use in resident activities.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, working Tuesday-Friday, 10am-3:30pm. Must be able to work every other weekend.
