Position Overview:

The Warehouse Operations Specialist is a key role focused on effective materials management. This position entails implementing safe storage techniques, maintaining digital inventory records, managing the distribution of spare parts and supplies, processing purchase orders, and coordinating shipments and pre-staging of materials. The role also involves vendor interactions and procurement of necessary components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and distributing supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records both manually and through computerized systems.
  • Procure parts and materials while liaising with vendors for a large division.
  • Implement an efficient reclamation program for returning usable items to inventory.
  • Update and maintain plant and property records as necessary.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of warehouse functions and storekeeping practices.
  • Understand the handling of parts, materials, supplies, and general commodities.
  • Utilize computer inventory software effectively.
  • Lead responsibilities in major warehouse areas as required.
  • Input data accurately into automated inventory control systems.
  • Prepare reports and maintain complex records.
  • Perform physical tasks requiring strength and agility.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Ensure inventory control through regular cycle counts.
  • Assist in maintaining capital property records as needed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a warehouse environment.

Physical and Job Site Requirements:

  • Complete hiring paperwork electronically.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Have a valid telephone for communication.
  • Be available for overtime or alternate hours as necessary.
  • Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Navigate confined spaces and uneven surfaces.
  • Maintain full range of motion and balance.
  • Respond to voice commands and alarms effectively.
  • Meet visual acuity and depth perception requirements for working at heights.
  • Wear safety/steel toe shoes as required.
