We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team at ShiftPixy Staffing. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating a variety of conventional and CNC machine tools to meet production requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Machine Operation: Set up and operate conventional machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and grinders, as well as CNC lathes and CNC milling centers.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret blueprints or job orders to determine product specifications, including dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions.
- Tool Setup: Select, position, and secure tools in tool holders for precise machining.
- Workpiece Positioning: Position and secure workpieces in holding devices, machine tables, chucks, centers, or fixtures for accurate machining.
- Machine Control: Adjust machine controls to position tools and workpieces accurately, setting specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
- CNC Programming: Edit and update CNC programs, collaborating with programmers and the ME/IE group to drive continuous improvement.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor machine operations and verify that machined workpieces conform to specifications.
- Tool Maintenance: Use bench tools to de-burr parts and bench grinders to sharpen tools, ensuring optimal performance.
- Education and Experience: Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in setting up and operating both conventional and CNC machine tools.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and job orders accurately.
- Mechanical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use handwheels, valves, and other machine controls effectively.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in verifying machined workpieces to ensure they meet specifications.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Safety and Quality Focus: Dedication to maintaining a safe working environment and upholding high-quality standards.
