Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of assigned patients, adhering to established care standards.
- Identify immediate patient needs upon admission and set daily care objectives.
- Evaluate patient allergies and implement infection control measures.
- Maintain awareness of surgical procedures performed on patients.
- Prioritize patient care, particularly in pain management and documentation.
- Complete necessary records at the conclusion of each case.
- Ensure accurate data collection using patient charts and surgical records.
- Confirm surgical outcomes with anesthesia providers and document any postoperative events.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of patient progress throughout the recovery phase.
- Effectively address and resolve incidents on the unit, communicating necessary information to relevant personnel.
- Work variable shifts, including weekends and on-call duties, based on the surgical schedule.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Valid New York State Registered Nurse license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- 1-3 years of experience in an operating room setting.
- Certifications in ACLS and PALS.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds, with potential lifting of up to 50 pounds when moving or transferring patients.
- Capability to stand for extended periods.
Work Environment:
This position requires onsite presence.
Compensation:
The pay range for this role is between $38.63 and $47.18 per hour.
