Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert wine and beverage service during operational hours.
  • Adhere to established service protocols to guarantee a seamless guest experience.
  • Conduct monthly inventory assessments of the beverage selection.
  • Relay any unexpected menu alterations and unavailable items to the Wine Director promptly.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all food and beverage offerings at Boujis Hospitality.
  • Effectively communicate any updates regarding the wine selection to the service team.
  • Ensure the accuracy of wine documentation and notes.
  • Keep the wine cellar and related areas in pristine condition.
  • Engage in ongoing education regarding the wine list and industry trends.
  • Assist in the upkeep of the physical wine catalog.
  • Set up and dismantle wine service stations as required.
  • Stay informed about global wine trends and changes.
  • Identify and address opportunities for improvement within the wine list.
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the restaurant environment.
  • Prioritize wine and beverage service demands without compromising overall service flow.
  • Provide training and support to team members as needed.
  • Fulfill server duties as necessary to support the team.
  • Perform any additional tasks required on the restaurant floor.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
  • Extensive knowledge of beverages, particularly wines.
  • Flexible availability, with a preference for candidates who can commit to at least four dinner service shifts.
  • A genuine passion for food and beverage, coupled with a willingness to learn.
  • An openness to innovative ideas and adaptability to a dynamic work environment.
  • Certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers or equivalent experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements

This position entails various physical demands, including but not limited to:

  • Visual acuity, auditory perception, and verbal communication.
  • Reaching and lifting frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing or sitting for extended periods ranging from 4 to 8 hours.
  • Bending and moving intermittently throughout the work shift.

These physical requirements can be met with or without reasonable accommodations. Responsibilities may evolve over time based on the needs of the business.
