Job Summary:

The Surgical Technologist I plays a vital role in the Operating Room as a scrub member of the surgical team under the direction of a registered nurse and a surgeon. This position requires strong communication and teamwork skills to ensure seamless execution of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assists with surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to aseptic techniques.
  • Works closely with the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe patient care.
  • Prepares and maintains surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Participates in the preparation and setup of surgical cases, including arranging sterile setups and updating physician preference cards.
  • Assists with patient positioning, lifting, and transferring, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation, including OR counts and surgical site identification.
  • Collaborates with the surgical team to identify and address any issues or concerns during procedures.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a surgical technology program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Act 33, Act 34, Act 73 FBI Clearance, and Act 81 Compliance.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the surgical team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CST Certification.
  • 1-3 years of surgical scrub experience.
Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to surgical procedures and patient care. The Surgical Technologist I must be able to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies, as well as stand for extended periods. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a high level of attention to detail is essential.
