Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to provide ongoing care, assessing patient needs and prioritizing care accordingly.
- Provide triage and consultation to patients, families, and significant others, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare team members, ensuring seamless care coordination.
- Document and communicate accurate and timely information regarding patient conditions.
- Prepare and room patients for exams, obtaining vital signs and updating pertinent health information.
- Perform laboratory procedures, including strep tests, wound cultures, and specimen collection, adhering to aseptic technique and standard precautions.
- Administer medications under physician orders, including immunizations, antibiotics, and narcotic pain medications.
- Assess and provide basic to complex patient education and counseling on tasks, skills, treatment, and self-care.
- Perform advanced clinical tasks, such as removal of sutures and staples, catheterization, and laboratory procedures, with demonstrated competency and under clinical supervision.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership skills, including delegation, organization, prioritization, and building team rapport.
- Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic medical records systems.
This role requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting, squatting, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, climbing, and reaching above shoulders throughout the workday. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from the floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance. You will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood, and body fluid hazards on a frequent basis and will be required to wear protective clothing and equipment as needed.
