Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate LPN or Certified Medical Assistant to join our OBGYN team at Essentia Health in Baxter, Minnesota. As a key member of our ambulatory care team, you will provide direct patient care, support physicians and nurse practitioners, and contribute to the overall success of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine assessments, including vital sign measurements, patient histories, and symptom observation, to assist in diagnosing and monitoring patient health.
  • Support physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures, ensuring proper equipment preparation, patient positioning, and infection control.
  • Administer prescribed medications, including injections and oral drugs, and monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects, documenting accurately.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, coordinating follow-up appointments and referrals.
  • Conduct initial patient intake processes, gathering medical histories, updating personal information, and preparing patients for examination or diagnostic testing.
Requirements
  • Current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, with certification required within one year of hire (must pass certification within two attempts)
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the relevant state
