Nurse Residency Specialist Job Summary

The Nurse Residency Specialist is a key role in creating a supportive learning environment for new graduate nurses to grow and develop their skills. This position is responsible for coaching and mentoring nurse residents, implementing system-level guidelines, and promoting participant retention.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver nursing residency classes and experiences at the system and ministry levels.
  • Collaborate with preceptors and nurse leaders to ensure progressive assessment and monitoring of nurse residents.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to preceptors and assigned nurse residents, promoting a culture of mutual respect and trust.
  • Work closely with clinical educators to ensure smooth transition from student to professional practice role.
  • Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge to nursing practice, ensuring patient-centered care.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Three years' registered nurse experience.
Physical Requirements:
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
