Job Summary:

The Transition Teacher will provide comprehensive and specialized instruction to students in the Transition Academy, including those with developmental and physical disabilities. Instruction will be provided across all environments, including the classroom, community, and job site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized programs to empower students for life after high school.
  • Provide instruction in a self-contained special education classroom, with a focus on transition skills and employment readiness.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student instruction and support.
  • Utilize technology, such as EdPlan, to track student progress and develop IEPs.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Oklahoma Teaching Certification with an endorsement in Mild/Moderate Special Education or Severe/Profound Special Education.
  • Three years of experience working in a self-contained special education classroom.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
