Job Summary

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Heart Hospital of Austin, you will play a critical role in gathering diagnostic information through the use of radioactive materials and sophisticated radiation detecting equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to perform Nuclear Medicine exams in a timely manner, document required information, and communicate pertinent details to primary physicians and direct care staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Nuclear Medicine exams, document required information, and communicate with primary physicians and direct care staff.
  • Coordinate and assist the care of patients assigned in collaboration with other technologists, physicians, nurses, and allied health staff.
  • Evaluate patient condition to adequately perform radiology exams.
  • Consult with other staff as necessary to meet the needs of the patient and family.
  • Assure that necessary clinical equipment and supplies are available and safely utilized.
  • Perform Point of Care procedures in a timely manner according to established policy and procedure.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an approved Joint Review Committee on Education Program in Nuclear Medicine Technology program or equivalent.
  • Certified by Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
  • Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (CNMT) or Certified in nuclear medicine by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (N).
