Job Title: Carpet Restoration Specialist

Job Summary:

BELFOR Holdings is seeking a skilled Carpet Restoration Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our disaster recovery team, you will be responsible for providing operational support in mitigation efforts for clients. This includes performing tasks related to pumping and extracting water, mold remediation, and using various types of specialized equipment under supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive instructions from team leaders and understand MSDS protocols for chemical products used during mitigation processes.
  • Perform daily inspections of vehicle safety and maintenance and keep vehicles clean and in perfect condition.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and mastery of the Book of Damage Caused by Water.
  • Under supervision, use specialized equipment such as scrapers, rinse rods, weighed trawls, and extraction units.
  • Build adequate containment systems using calculations and equipment.
  • Properly use cleaning and disinfecting solutions and debris removal techniques from confined areas.
  • Use lifting techniques, sliding pads, and polystyrene foam blocks to protect client belongings.
  • Under supervision, remove vapor barriers, label recoverable cuttings, and install drying systems.
  • Comply with BELFOR standards to safeguard client property.
  • Provide excellent customer service and adhere to customer service principles.
  • Work under time constraints to meet specific deadlines.
  • Travel and work at night and during weekends as required.
  • Accurately report time worked and equipment used.
  • Attend BELFOR operations and security training courses.

Duties:

  • Water pumping and extraction
  • Mold remediation
  • Moving and resetting contents
  • Setting drying equipment
  • Antimicrobial applications
  • Vehicle safety and maintenance inspections
  • Maintaining vehicles in clean serviceable condition
  • Constructing polyethylene enclosures
  • Removing and disposing of debris
  • Maintaining equipment used in daily tasks
  • Additional duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Ability to identify product usage and disposal requirements
  • Knowledge of various pump systems
  • Eligibility to operate a motor vehicle per BELFOR's vehicle policy
  • Possess sense of urgency, professional demeanor, positive attitude, and strong work ethic
  • English language literacy and fluency

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent lifting in excess of 50 lbs
  • Occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted (up to 50% of the time)
  • Access and mobility in tight spaces
  • Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling
  • Ability to use mobile devices for data collection and time tracking
