Job Description

The Role

We are currently looking for a Warehouse Supervisor for our local manufacturing facility. As a Warehouse Supervisor with MAPEI, you will supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in preparing, verifying, and keeping records of incoming and/or outgoing shipments. You will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and be involved in all aspects of the warehouse operations; shipping and receiving, managing goods, quality control, and utilizing computerized systems to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery for MAPEI's customers.

Responsibilities
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Analyzing shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
  • Overseeing incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
  • Determining space requirements and laying out efficient ways to arrange shipments into containers, trailers, and trucks.
  • Determining routing and weight specifications for truck loads according to established schedules and weight limits respectively.
  • Inspecting loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications. Sealing loaded containers, trailers, and truck doors.
  • Inspecting material handling equipment for defects and notifying maintenance personnel or contacting outside service facilities for repair.
  • Directing movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platforms to storage and work areas.
  • Compiling records of unfilled orders.
  • Posting weights and freight charges.
  • Preparing bills of lading and being responsible for the planning and dock appointments for outgoing shipments.
  • Verifying that truck drivers have pertinent permits and legal documents required by the products to be loaded.
  • Studying and standardizing procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
  • Maintaining harmony among workers and resolving grievances.
  • Preparing composite reports from individual reports of subordinates.
  • Analyzing and providing corrective action for service-related complaints.
  • Conforming with and abiding by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules, and instructions.
  • Performing other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • To be successful in this role, you should be willing to get your hands dirty a bit.
  • Having a minimum of 3+ years of warehousing experience using a lift-truck.
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training.
  • You must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • You should be proficient and comfortable with computers.
  • Demonstrating proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Having the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. independently; and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
  • You must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Forklift experience/certification is a plus.
  • Must be able to accommodate the designated shift hours: 1st shift (days).
