Senior Battery Management Engineer

At Supernal, we're pushing the boundaries of human possibility with our electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicle and the ground-to-air ecosystem to support the emerging Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) industry. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop high-voltage battery management systems for eVTOL aircraft
  • Work closely with hardware and software engineers from multi-functional teams
  • Develop requirements for performance prediction algorithms
  • Verify models and algorithms using various techniques
  • Optimize algorithms for real-time computer resource constraints
  • Partner with PMO organization to implement build plan
  • Up to 10% domestic and international travel
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required; Master's degree or Ph.D. preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated battery algorithm development experience
  • Experience developing battery prediction algorithms and models
  • Strong mathematical fundamentals and programming skills in C and C++
  • Data analysis skills and scripting skills in Python
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in aviation with DO-178C compliance for SW development
  • Familiarity with cell behavior due to load changes and thermal changes

Supernal provides an inviting open-space workplace designed to foster collaboration. This position is required to work on-site 5 days a week.
