About the Role

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Navigation Software Engineer III, you'll play a critical role in designing and implementing cutting-edge navigation software for our lunar vehicles. Your expertise will help us achieve our mission of making humanity a multi-planetary species.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deploy optimal state estimation algorithms for inertial and relative navigation.
  • Own the development and deployment of embedded navigation software, including sensor interfaces and telemetry management.
  • Verify navigation software implementation through open-loop and closed-loop Monte Carlo analysis and unit testing.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and testing of navigation algorithms for various phases of flight.
  • Collaborate on the implementation of processor-in-the-loop, software-in-the-loop, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in state estimation algorithms and Kalman filters for navigation.
  • Proven experience with build systems, version control, and testing methodologies.
  • Strong software development and design skills with emphasis on C++ and Simulink/MATLAB.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or equivalent in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience in the development, implementation, and testing of navigation algorithms for spacecraft navigation.
