Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist III to join our team at The University of Chicago Medicine. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of functions before, during, and after interventional procedures. This includes patient education, maintenance of a sterile environment, patient monitoring, and knowledge of procedural supplies to aid the physician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient education and preparation for procedures
  • Maintain a sterile environment and monitor patient status during procedures
  • Assist physicians with invasive procedures related to catheters and stents
  • Support complex imaging, including C-arm, ICE, CT scans, and 3D spins
  • Set up and troubleshoot imaging and radiology equipment
  • Collaborate with other disciplines for well-coordinated care
  • Assist with other activities to facilitate effective and efficient use of resources
Requirements
  • Graduated from an accredited Radiology Technologist (RT) program
  • Ability to take call overnight/weekends
  • Four years or more of previous experience working in Interventional/Special Procedures setting
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work effectively with other staff members
  • Proven visual acuity, manual dexterity, and accuracy
  • Independent judgment and initiative required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced certification in Vascular Interventional Radiology
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
