Job Summary

Jeff Smith Automotive is seeking a skilled Automotive Refinisher to join our team. As a key member of our body shop, you will be responsible for refinishing damaged vehicle bodies and parts to meet factory and dealership quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain Equipment: Safely and effectively operate all body shop equipment, including sanders, paint sprayers, and other tools.
  • Prepare Surfaces: Fill cavities and dents with putty to achieve a smooth surface, and mask and protect parts that are not to be painted or coated.
  • Apply Finishing Coats: Apply multiple layers of paint and clear coats to achieve a high-gloss finish.
  • Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Environment: Keep the work area clean and organized, and maintain all necessary safety equipment and personal protective gear.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work effectively with other technicians and support staff to ensure timely completion of repairs and meet customer expectations.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations affecting body shop operations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know requirements.
Physical Demands

This is a physically demanding position that requires standing for six to eight hours per shift, as well as frequent bending, stooping, and lifting. You will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, paint, and other hazardous materials.
