We are seeking a highly qualified Carpentry Instructor to join our team at Baltimore City Public Schools. As a key member of our Career and Technical Education department, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the Carpentry trade, preparing them for successful careers in the industry.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement instructional programs in Carpentry, aligning with industry standards and best practices.
- Assess student abilities and progress, providing individualized support and guidance to ensure student success.
- Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to develop and maintain career pathways, internships, and apprenticeships.
- Manage classroom activities, including laboratory experiences, and ensure a safe and healthy learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, providing regular updates on student progress and achievements.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Career and Technology Education or a related field, or equivalent experience and training.
- Three to five years of Carpentry-related work experience, with a focus on teaching and training.
- Possession of or eligibility for NCCER instructor certification and Instructor Certification Training Program (ICTP).
- Teaching experience preferred, with a focus on vocational education and career development.
