Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Dietitian Specialist to join our team at PACE Southeast Michigan. As a Dietitian Specialist, you will be responsible for providing evidence-based medical nutrition therapy to participants and caregivers with varying levels of nutrition risk.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in dietetics, nutrition, or a related field, with experience in conducting comprehensive nutrition assessments, utilizing screening tools, and applying principles of adult learning in organizing educational activities.

About the Role:

  • Provide evidence-based medical nutrition therapy to participants and caregivers with varying levels of nutrition risk.
  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments, including identification and documentation of malnutrition and morbid obesity, evaluation for food insecurity, motivation for changing behaviors, and development of individualized goals and interventions for participants with complex medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based nutrition interventions, including education and counseling on nutrient requirements, knowledge and abilities, and medical, economic, and social situation.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and measures progress toward outcomes of nutrition interventions, utilizing monitoring and evaluation techniques that consider participants' nutrition needs as well as cultural, religious, and ethnic concerns.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a related field, with completion of a dietetics program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
  • Registration eligible or successful completion of the registration exam set forth by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Establish and maintain interpersonal and interdepartmental relationships, demonstrating ability to collaborate with all members of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
