Diagnostic Ultrasound Specialist

ProMedica Health System is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Ultrasound Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations with independent judgment, initiative, and ingenuity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently perform ultrasound procedures in an efficient and productive manner, following established protocols and ensuring the highest possible technical quality.
  • Maintain proficiency in the utilization of all diagnostic ultrasound systems and the performance of all technical procedures.
  • Document quality control and calibration of ultrasound systems, and report any equipment malfunctions.
  • Utilize computerized Radiology Information Systems (EPIC, PACS, etc.) in an accurate and appropriate manner.
  • Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring patients and their families' comfort and needs are addressed in a dignified and confidential manner.
  • Assist physicians in physician-performed ultrasound guided procedures, maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Assist with training and education of student/new sonographers.
  • Ensure patient care and staff work areas are clean, orderly, and appropriately stocked.
Requirements:
  • Must have attended an approved school of diagnostic ultrasound or have equivalent experience accepted by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Must be registered as a diagnostic sonographer by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and maintain active registry status.
  • CPR certification is required.
