We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Optum. As an MFM Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and operating related equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify anatomical orientation on all required images and assure proper file identification
  • Demonstrate competency in performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and operating equipment
  • Greet patients, obtain history, and enter information in the computer system
  • Scan according to guidelines and maintain logs
  • Process paperwork for biopsies and maintain quality standards
  • Responsible for all clinical aspects of the ultrasonography suite and maintain cleanliness of examination rooms
  • Assist in the completion of the accreditation process for the American College of Radiology (ACR)
  • Maintain CPR certification and observe patient vital signs during examination
  • Provide coverage as needed and provide instruction/mentoring to new hires
  • Provide a positive patient experience and maintain communication with radiologists and other physicians
  • Consistently submit images of diagnostic quality and perform quality assurance on images and equipment

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited course in ultrasonography
  • ARDMS certification
  • Associate degree or Baccalaureate degree in radiography or sonography (preferred)

Physical Demands:

  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to assist patients weighing 300 pounds or more
