Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electric Distribution Project Engineer to join our team at the City of Palo Alto. As a key member of our Utilities Electrical Engineering Division, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing complex electric utility projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of project development, including design, construction, and closeout.
  • Develop and implement complex electrical engineering designs, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Prepare written reports and presentations for electric utility maintenance and construction programs.
  • Supervise inspectors and technicians during project development and construction phases.
  • Develop and maintain utilities' materials standards, equipment specifications, and operating procedures.
  • Perform load studies and prepare forecasts for utilities' system planning and budget preparation.
  • Provide guidance and work supervision to technicians and outside consultants as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering (with power option or equivalent experience).
  • Three years increasingly responsible electric utility engineering and project management experience.
  • Registration as a professional engineer in the State of California.
