Position Overview

Role: Cloud Solutions Architect

Department: Management Information Systems

Reporting To: Director of Enterprise Infrastructure

Employment Status: Exempt

Objective: Oversee, design, maintain, analyze, and resolve issues related to core systems at IPG, which encompass Cloud, Virtualization, Server, Storage, Network, Endpoints, and Directory Services. This role is also tasked with ensuring compliance with IPG's security protocols and standards set by Cloud service providers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and manage IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS network frameworks.
  • Implement and support a variety of cloud and on-premise server operating systems.
  • Educate teams on the deployment of innovative cloud technologies and strategies.
  • Oversee the transition and modernization of workloads from local data centers to Azure.
  • Administer and supervise Endpoint management systems, including Intune and SCCM.
  • Assist in the creation and support of financial and risk models for new solutions to assess their optimal environment, whether in the cloud or on-premises.
  • Contribute to the formulation of business continuity and disaster recovery strategies, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of actionable plans and identifying opportunities for cloud integration in recovery efforts.
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance to application teams for network and server performance issues.
  • Offer on-call technical support as needed.
  • Resolve escalated issues to diagnose and rectify cloud infrastructure challenges.
  • Continuously enhance expertise in relevant cloud technology products, services, protocols, and standards to stay informed about advancements in the cloud infrastructure sector.
  • Serve as the primary resource for securing network and server infrastructure.
  • Deliver technical leadership in the design of complex cloud systems.
  • Mentor IT personnel across various technology platforms.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of Azure architecture along with migration experience.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience, coupled with over 10 years in Cloud administration.
  • Familiarity with additional cloud technologies such as Endpoint, API Management, and Identity Management.
  • Strong comprehension of both cloud and on-premise infrastructure components (server, storage, network, data, and applications) to provide comprehensive cloud infrastructure, architectures, and designs.
  • Proficient in Azure, Microsoft Active Directory, and Windows Server 2016 & 2019.
  • Experience with Azure CLI, PowerShell/Azure PowerShell, and the Azure Portal.
  • Familiarity with IT automation tools such as Ansible.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and oral communication skills, with proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including root cause analysis.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, with meticulous attention to detail and minimal supervision.
  • Utilizes experience and judgment to plan and achieve objectives while performing a variety of tasks.
  • Skilled in reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedural manuals.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Capable of effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience in a team-oriented, collaborative work environment.
  • Train technical support staff on new technologies and common systems-related challenges.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions (e.g., Nessus) and addressing vulnerabilities.
