Job Title: Respite Provider at Lutheran Services in Iowa

Lutheran Services in Iowa is currently seeking part-time Respite Providers to provide respite care services in the community. The purpose of respite care is to give the parent or primary caregiver a break from the daily responsibilities of caring for a child or adult with a disability.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED. Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred. Basic computer knowledge is required.

This position provides all care required to a child or adult with a disability while their parent or guardian is absent, maintaining a safe and nurturing home-based environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide care and support to individuals with disabilities
  • Work collaboratively with families to understand their needs and preferences
  • Create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes independence and well-being
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate varying family needs
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities (preferred)
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of software applications
