About the Role:
We're seeking a highly skilled Shift Material Supervisor to oversee the material control and production data control functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production materials, driving continuous improvement in material inventory accuracy, consumption rates, scrap rates, and repair rates. This role will also involve coordinating and verifying raw material deliveries to Production throughout the shift and ensuring sufficient material to keep the lines running effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the production department to ensure accurate material control, consumption, repair, and scrap management.
- Lead material teams to support production and minimize losses caused by line shutdowns.
- Assist in organizing and leading periodic inventory counts and cycle count activities for materials and finished goods.
- Ensure all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Canadian Solar Code of Business Conduct.
- Provide leadership by instilling team goals and objectives, fostering positive staff relationships, and promoting a culture of excellence.
- Coordinate with operational departments to achieve company goals and objectives.
- Communicate results and issues to shift staff, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and complete other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in production/material control in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to complete the above responsibilities, with a strong focus on leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time and project management skills, with attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Office, experience with enterprise ERP/SAP systems or other software.
- Intermediate skills in Excel.
