Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Marine Structural Engineer to join our team in Seattle, Federal Way, or Vancouver, WA. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading engineering, planning, design, and analysis activities for waterfront, port, and maritime infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage projects, including cost estimates, budgets, scheduling, and documentation preparation, support, and evaluation
  • Recommend contracting strategies
  • Construction support
  • Resolve design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspection
  • Design detailed plans and structural analysis
  • Perform finite element static and dynamic structural modeling of structures
  • Prepare design concepts, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates
  • Calculate quantity estimates
  • Coordinate plan details with drafting technicians
  • Prepare inspection reports as needed
  • Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
  • Oversee work of CAD designers, technicians, and other engineers
  • Mentoring of staff
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering; required
  • Master's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; required
  • PE registration; required
  • SE registration or ability to obtain SE; preferred
  • 10 to 15 years of related waterfront structural experience in engineering design and project management; required
  • Proven ability to implement and manage both small and large-scale projects
  • Proven success in leading people and managing resources
  • Strong communication (verbal, written, and presentation) skills
  • Experience in developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Must be willing and able to travel for projects
  • Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port & Navigation Engineers (ACOPNE) certification in the Port Engineering category is preferred
Working Conditions

Majority of work is office-based. Some site visits may be required, which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
