Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Registered Nurse

Position Details:
This is a full-time role requiring 4 days of work per week, with a rotating day off. The typical shift runs from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with occasional late hours as necessary. There are no weekend, holiday, or on-call duties.
Key Responsibilities:
The Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit RN is responsible for planning, executing, directing, and evaluating both direct and indirect nursing care for surgical patients. This includes preparing and organizing the environment, equipment, and supplies essential for performing clinical activities that facilitate patient preparation for surgery and their recovery afterward.
Qualifications:
- Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Registered Nursing and possess a current RN license issued by the State of Kansas. BLS certification is mandatory, while PALS certification is required for Post-op. ACLS or ALS certification is also necessary, with a 12-month grace period for completion.
- Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. The ability to manage stress effectively while interacting with patients, colleagues, physicians, and vendors is crucial.
- Experience: A minimum of one year of hospital experience in a critical care setting, preferably within a surgical environment, is required.
- Physical Requirements: Candidates must be mentally and physically fit, capable of regularly lifting or moving up to 50 pounds, frequently lifting or moving up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lifting or moving more than 100 pounds.
- Work Environment: The role requires the ability to stand or walk for extended periods. Exposure to communicable diseases and radiation may occur.
- Confidentiality: Must handle confidential information in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
Additional Information:
ICU experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. BLS and ACLS certifications are required, while PALS certification is preferred.
