Job Overview

Argo Cyber Systems is actively seeking a Cyber Incident Manager to play a pivotal role in supporting our mission to assist U.S. Government entities and critical infrastructure owners in the event of cyber incidents.

This position demands a High-Level Security Clearance and involves the following key responsibilities:

  • Analyzing incident data to identify trends and patterns in reported cybersecurity events.
  • Advising on comprehensive defense strategies, including layered security measures and robust defenses.
  • Conducting triage of Computer Network Defense incidents to assess scope, urgency, and potential impacts.
  • Researching and documenting known resolutions or workarounds to facilitate the mitigation of cybersecurity incidents.
  • Utilizing cybersecurity principles to detect and defend against intrusions in both small and large IT networks, along with preliminary log data analysis.
  • Monitoring external threat intelligence sources to stay updated on the cybersecurity landscape and its implications for the organization.
  • Determining the root cause of incidents and engaging with external parties to gather essential background information.
  • Evaluating network alerts from various sources to identify potential causes.
  • Documenting and tracking Computer Network Defense incidents from detection through resolution, collaborating with other organizational components.
  • Providing support during assigned shifts within standard business hours.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Ability to obtain DHS Suitability
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in cyber incident management or cybersecurity operations
  • Familiarity with incident response methodologies and NIST standards
  • Understanding of the NCCIC National Cyber Incident Scoring System for effective incident prioritization
  • Knowledge of various attack stages and vulnerability recognition
  • Basic system administration skills and knowledge of operating system hardening techniques

Desired Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of operational threat environments
  • Understanding of system and application security vulnerabilities

Education: Bachelor's degree in Incident Management, Operations Management, Cybersecurity, or a related field. A high school diploma with 3-5 years of relevant experience is also acceptable.

Certifications: GCIH, GCFA, GISP, GCED, CCFP, or CISSP are preferred.
