Job Summary

Madison Area Technical College is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Part-Time Instructor to teach part-time courses in-person for the Information Technology (Software Development) program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach part-time courses in the Information Technology program, including courses in Data Analytics, Software Quality, Front End Developer, and Web Software Developer.
  • Develop and plan instructional strategies and alternative delivery methods, including hybrid, face-to-face, and online course delivery.
  • Participate in in-service meetings, staff development trainings, and other activities or programs requested by the Department.
  • Assist and advise students with problems related to assignments, tests, grades, course content, career concerns, and other academic matters.
  • Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing, record keeping, advanced standing, providing grades on a timely basis, evaluating student performance, and maintaining office hours for student assistance and counseling.
  • Maintain competencies as an instructor as aligned with the Faculty Quality Assurance System.
  • Assist students in developing work experience assignments, such as internships, work study assignments, team projects, etc.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the college's mission, vision, and values.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university, or a combination of education and other accomplishments that is equivalent.
  • Four (4) years or 8,000 hours of combined occupational experience, with one (1) year (2,000 hours) of related work experience within the past five (5) years.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional continuing education or industry certification, such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, MCSA, MCSE, AWS, or Azure in Information Technology.
