- Perform detailed dysrhythmia analysis and monitoring for patients under portable cardiac telemetry and hard-wired systems.
- Engage in effective communication with nursing units and interdisciplinary teams to relay critical information.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of required training and education with satisfactory exam results within the designated timeframe.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduation from a Technical Education Program or Medical Assistant Program.
- Certification in HeartSaver or Basic Life Support within the initial employment period.
Core Duties: The following duties outline the essential functions of this position:
- Monitor telemetry and hard-wired patients routed to the centralized Telemetry Surveillance Unit, overseeing multiple patients simultaneously.
- Complete required competencies and training modules within specified timeframes.
- Identify and report any abnormal heart rhythms or life-threatening events to medical and nursing personnel.
- Analyze and document ECG strip waveforms every four hours, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
- Maintain accurate logs of nursing staff assigned to monitored patients and communicate any dysrhythmias promptly.
- Utilize electronic systems to manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers accurately.
- Prepare telemetry packs and ensure the proper functioning of equipment.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in inventory management and equipment troubleshooting as necessary.
- Ensure patient safety is prioritized in all tasks performed.
- Communicate effectively with team members and document all relevant information in a timely manner.
Physical Requirements: The role requires minimal physical activity, with extended periods of sitting and the ability to visually monitor multiple screens.
Working Environment: This position involves close collaboration with colleagues and effective communication within the healthcare team.
