We are seeking a Full-Time Vascular Ultrasound Technologist for our specialized vascular surgery facility.

The facility operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, ensuring no evening, weekend, or on-call shifts. Enjoy six major holidays off each year.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Vascular Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for executing both basic and advanced vascular ultrasound examinations and other non-invasive vascular assessments as outlined in departmental guidelines. The individual will effectively organize and prioritize tasks in alignment with departmental requirements, ensuring timely completion of assignments.

KEY DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Delivering diagnostic-quality vascular ultrasound and non-invasive vascular assessments while adhering to established protocols and safety standards.
  • Appropriately triaging patients based on their acuity, ensuring compliance with identification procedures, and reviewing orders for exam appropriateness while providing relevant clinical history.
  • Submitting accurate and complete exam images along with necessary worksheets and data sheets in accordance with departmental protocols for physician review.
  • Performing all required data entry and administrative tasks to ensure exams are documented in the necessary systems for laboratory accreditation.
  • Demonstrating consistent adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining required credentials (such as RVT) and fulfilling continuing education obligations for laboratory accreditation.
  • Participating fully in risk management initiatives and investigations.
  • Ensuring confidentiality and security of all information and data pertinent to the role.
  • Engaging in departmental meetings, quality control, and quality improvement activities.
  • Assisting in the orientation and cross-training of new staff and students as needed.
  • Escalating issues to supervisors when necessary.
  • Complying with the Code of Business Conduct and all relevant company policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Contributing to various projects as assigned by the direct supervisor.
  • Performing additional duties as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

EDUCATION:

  • A High School Diploma is required; an Associate's Degree is preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited ultrasound program (such as a CAAHEP-approved or CMA-approved ultrasound/vascular training program) and RVT certification within 12 months of hire.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred training and experience in performing Transcranial Doppler and abdominal Doppler examinations.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and emergency protocols.
  • Understanding of vascular anatomy and physiology.
  • Proficiency in operating ultrasound and peripheral arterial Doppler systems.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow detailed examination protocols.
  • Capability to work with patients experiencing limited mobility and severe peripheral vascular conditions.
