Position Overview:
This role is situated within a healthcare setting where the individual will provide essential nursing support under direct supervision, ensuring adherence to established protocols and practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients, administering prescribed medications and treatments in line with nursing standards.
  • Assist in preparing medical equipment and support physicians during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions and responses to treatments and medications to the medical team.
  • Welcome patients and prepare them for medical evaluations, gathering pertinent information for effective care.
  • Coordinate and schedule necessary tests, procedures, and hospital admissions, ensuring timely follow-up on test results.
  • Manage incoming calls, providing guidance to patients and families regarding medications and treatment protocols.
  • Develop and maintain patient care plans, ensuring accurate documentation of patient charts and medical histories.
  • Record vital patient data prior to medical consultations, including vital signs and any changes in medication.
  • Ensure proper consent is obtained before any treatments or procedures are conducted.
  • Conduct EKGs and oximetry readings as required by the medical staff.
  • Perform laboratory procedures and manage specimen processing, maintaining accurate records of all lab results.
  • Collect blood samples as necessary, adhering to safety and hygiene standards.
  • Uphold disinfection protocols in examination and treatment areas, ensuring a safe environment for patients.
  • Facilitate prescription refills and manage patient communications as directed by physicians.
  • Assist in obtaining pre-authorizations and necessary patient records for continuity of care.
  • Support other medical assistants and scheduling staff as needed, maintaining organized patient files and documentation.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be a graduate from an accredited practical nursing program.

This is an entry-level position requiring 0-3 years of experience in a clinical or hospital environment.

Current CPR certification is mandatory.
