Part-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Under the guidance of the Medical Director of Behavioral Health, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will deliver outpatient psychiatric care to adult clients. This role is structured as a part-time position, estimated at 18 hours per week, and does not include benefits.
Key Responsibilities:Direct Psychopharmacological Services:
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations following established protocols, ensuring all documentation is completed and submitted within two business days.
- Monitor and assess clients' psychopharmacological needs, ensuring timely documentation post-appointment.
- Provide on-call psychiatric coverage, responding promptly to inquiries.
Quality Enhancement Activities:
- Stay informed on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning methodologies.
- Engage actively in psychiatry team meetings and contribute to diagnostic formulations and treatment planning.
Community Representation:
- Support the department's collaborations with hospitals and offer telephone consultations for clients as necessary.
- Participate in educational and training initiatives when requested.
Agency Participation:
- Contribute to ongoing quality improvement efforts.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
- Engage in quality assessment and improvement activities as required.
- Maintain the highest standards of client confidentiality.
- Follow established safety protocols and address any identified risks.
- Attend mandatory meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Keep abreast of professional competencies and document continuing education activities.
- Serve on committees and professional organizations as needed.
Additional Duties:
Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:- Education: A graduate degree from an accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program is essential.
- Licensure: A current Massachusetts license is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of outpatient experience as a certified Nurse Practitioner.
- Skills: Proficient in psychiatric assessment and documentation.
- Community Engagement: Experience or strong interest in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, HIV, trauma, and substance use issues.
- Diversity Competence: Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility: Adaptable and capable of managing multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with BIPOC individuals and LGBTQIA+ issues is highly valued.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is advantageous.
Ability to fulfill the following physical demands with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a workstation.
- Extended periods of typing and data entry.
