Job Title: Psychiatric Registered NurseJob Summary:

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our team at the Brockton Behavioral Health Center. As a Psychiatric Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to individuals experiencing complex mental health and substance use needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to psychiatric patients, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized plans of care that prioritize patient needs and promote continuity of care.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices and protocols to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote excellence in patient care.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or ability to receive reciprocity license prior to start.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required for certain units.
  • Additional certifications may be required for certain practice areas.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in psychiatric settings, preferably in an inpatient hospital environment.
  • Knowledge of professional nursing principles, procedures, and techniques used in the care and treatment of patients in psychiatric settings.
  • Knowledge of social, psychological, and physical factors of psychiatric disorders.
  • Knowledge of psychotropic medications and their side effects.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulations that apply to the care of patients in inpatient psychiatric settings.
