Position: Urgent Care Technician (Paramedic)

The Urgent Care Technician operates as a Paramedic with a National Registry Certification, working under the Medical Direction of ConvenientMD. This role requires advanced patient assessment skills for managing a variety of medical conditions and traumatic injuries, including airway management, intravenous therapy, and pharmacological interventions. The UCT will take the lead in situations where a Registered Nurse is unavailable and will collaborate with the clinical team to fulfill all shared responsibilities within their scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct patient triage, including vital signs, medical history, and observational assessments.
  2. Assist with patient examinations, testing, and procedures as directed by the healthcare provider.
  3. Manage airways through nebulizer treatments, oral suctioning, and oxygen administration.
  4. Perform cardiac management, including 12 Lead ECG application, CPR, and AED defibrillation.
  5. Administer medications and immunizations in accordance with the CMD Urgent Care Technician scope of practice.
  6. Support patient follow-ups, addressing inquiries, reporting test results, and discussing medication changes.
  7. Participate in training and mentoring new team members.

Qualifications:

  1. Nationally Certified Paramedic (Required in NH & MA, ME preferred).
  2. Licensed Paramedic.
  3. AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification preferred; American Red Cross BLS Certification accepted.
  4. Availability to work 12-hour shifts and weekends.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to stand and sit for extended periods; some bending and stooping required.
  2. Manual dexterity necessary for clinical tasks.
  3. Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
