Key Responsibilities:

  • Sign-On Bonus: $15,000
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients to determine their ability to engage in prescribed procedures. Clearly articulate the procedure's details, including duration, process, and post-procedure expectations. Ensure informed consent is obtained and assist physicians during interventional procedures such as needle localization, aspirations, biopsies, and other invasive tasks. Maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques while adhering to universal precautions. Provide relevant patient education as needed.
  • Select appropriate equipment, configure technical settings, and prepare necessary supplies prior to procedure execution. Uphold all radiation safety standards, including Image Gently and Image Wisely protocols, as well as MR safety regulations. Comprehend and comply with all radiation protection guidelines, including the use of lead protection during fluoroscopy or in areas with potential exposure.
  • Gather comprehensive patient histories and document this information in patient records to aid in image interpretation and future patient interactions.
  • Perform quality assessments of acquired images and evaluate equipment functionality, reporting any issues to the supervisor, manager, or director.
  • Ensure all equipment is operational at the start of each day and before initiating procedures. Conduct performance and quality tests on equipment as required, including ACR quality standards. Check supplies for expiration dates prior to use and report any shortages or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Engage in department, campus, and system quality improvement initiatives, understanding the ACR accreditation process, Radiation Safety, ALARA principles, MQSA, and applicable state regulations related to licensure or certifications. Be knowledgeable about CMS and Joint Commission requirements and articulate departmental processes regarding quality and care environments.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • ARRT Board Certification in Radiology.
  • Valid Medical Radiography or General Radiology Technologist Permit to Practice license in the relevant state.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in venipuncture techniques as required for the role.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership over projects and assignments.
  • Team-oriented with excellent follow-up and customer service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Effective interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and team members.

PREFERRED Qualifications:

  • Six to nine months of experience in radiology is preferred.
  • If duties include the Cardiac Catheter lab, ACLS certification is required.
  • Certification in Interventional Radiology or RCIS is preferred.
  • ARRT Board Certification in CT within one year of hire, if applicable.
  • ARRT Board Certification in Mammography within one year of hire, if applicable.
