Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) is a leading provider of innovative contract solutions to public and private sector customers worldwide. We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at MCAS Beaufort, SC.

Job Summary:

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for analyzing malfunctions and repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining power equipment, such as cranes, power shovels, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose defects in equipment and perform repairs, rebuilds, and maintenance tasks.
  • Operate and inspect machines or equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear and replace defective components.
  • Weld broken parts and structural members.
  • Engage in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training.
  • Ability to work in a team or alone and change jobs on short notice.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
  • Physically fit to bend, stoop, and lift in awkward positions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must have a safe driving record to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test, criminal record check, and motor vehicle check.
