POSITION SUMMARY
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Specialist (MRI) is responsible for delivering exceptional patient care by operating MRI machinery, adhering to safety protocols, and assessing imaging studies for technical excellence. This role requires the application of professional judgment during procedures and a commitment to providing essential patient support throughout the MRI process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Setting up and managing MRI equipment utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of patients, while implementing infection control measures for the workspace.
- Ensuring patient comfort by alleviating concerns, explaining procedures, and addressing inquiries.
- Minimizing risks to patients and staff by conducting thorough MRI Safety Screenings for all individuals entering the MRI Exam Room.
- Preparing patients for MRI scans by positioning them appropriately, adjusting immobilization devices, and configuring equipment to meet specific imaging needs while ensuring safety standards are upheld.
- Safeguarding patients, oneself, and colleagues from potential hazards. Capturing images in accordance with established protocols, processing images, and verifying clarity before distribution to medical personnel.
- Documenting patient care activities accurately in medical records.
- Ensuring the functionality of MRI equipment through regular maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating repairs as necessary.
- Maintaining accurate records, including patient files, daily logs, and monthly reports.
- Managing MRI supply inventory by monitoring stock levels, anticipating needs, and placing orders as required.
- Conducting quality control assessments to ensure the MRI unit complies with all relevant standards and regulations.
- Adhering to legal and professional standards by staying informed about current legislation and advising management on compliance matters.
- Maintaining professional credentials and continuing education by participating in workshops and professional organizations.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the Clinical Director or Practice Administrator.
- High School diploma or equivalent, along with completion of an accredited Magnetic Resonance Imaging program.
- National registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current CPR certification for healthcare providers.
- A minimum of one year of experience as an MRI Technologist in a similar setting.
- IV Credentialing, if applicable.
Bilingual skills may be advantageous in certain clinics or shifts.
SUPERVISORY ROLE
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
EMPLOYMENT CONDITION:
Cypress Healthcare Partners requires verification of COVID-19 vaccination or a valid exemption due to medical or religious reasons. Additionally, new hires must provide proof of receiving a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccination if eligible.
