Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing radiation therapy, including administering medications, monitoring patient condition, and communicating with healthcare team members.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs, working closely with the healthcare team to ensure a smooth transition to post-acute care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that enhance patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Indiana.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
  • At least 1 year of experience in radiation oncology or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Certification in radiation oncology nursing or a related field.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) and other healthcare technology systems.
