Position Overview
The primary objective of this role is to plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and oversee our infection prevention and control program and its associated activities in compliance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. This will be executed under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Nursing, and the Infection Prevention and Control Committee to ensure that an effective infection prevention and control program is maintained consistently.
Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, implement, evaluate, and manage our infection prevention and control program in alignment with current regulations and guidelines applicable to nursing care facilities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant CMS, CDC, OSHA, state, and local regulations regarding infection prevention and control.
- Participate in and contribute to Infection Prevention and Control Committee meetings.
- Represent the Infection Prevention and Control Committee as needed during QAPI and other relevant meetings.
- Engage with residents or family members to explain standard, transmission, or enhanced barrier precautions as necessary.
- Participate in the orientation program that introduces new employees to our infection prevention and control and employee health programs.
- Ensure that all personnel involved in tasks with potential exposure to blood/body fluids receive appropriate in-service training.
- Assess and evaluate new or improved resident care products or procedures.
- Current RN license in the state.
- A minimum of 3 years of proven success in a nursing leadership role.
- Strong financial and management skills; ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule.
- Ability to interact positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and other facility staff.
- Genuine interest in and a positive attitude towards working with long-term care residents and the elderly.
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Meets all health requirements as mandated by law.
- Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and aptitude for learning company applications.
- Proficient in Microsoft products.
- Completion of specialized training in infection prevention and control is required.
- Experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Previous post-acute care or healthcare experience is preferred.
